Brian Dye

Director - Technology Services at City of Naples

Brian Dye has a diverse work experience in the field of technology services and GIS. Brian currently works at the City of Naples as the Director of Technology Services, a position they have held since June 2019. Prior to this role, they served as the Deputy Director and GIS Manager for the same city, starting in October 2018.

Before joining the City of Naples, Brian worked at AECOM, where they held various roles. Brian was a Business Process Analyst II from June 2011 to October 2013, and during this time, they were responsible for responding to government RFPs, writing technical scopes of services, and coordinating proposals. Brian also served as a Senior GIS Analyst from June 2007 to May 2013, providing program management, IT, and geospatial integration support services within the Air Combat Command GeoBase Program.

Prior to their tenure at AECOM, Brian worked at EarthTech as a GIS Analyst from February 2005 to June 2007. In this role, they implemented the GeoBase program at Minot Air Force Base, including setting up and maintaining databases and web servers, developing data maintenance plans, and providing training.

Brian'searliest work experience was at Woolpert LLP, where they served as a GIS Project Manager from January 1999 to 2004. Brian managed large projects, initiated contact with clients, responded to RFPs, and implemented software updates for a real estate property search application.

Brian Dye completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Geology at Juniata College from 1991 to 1995. Following this, they pursued further education and completed a Master of Science coursework in Geology at Bowling Green State University from 1995 to 1998. In February 2009, Brian obtained certification as a Certified Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Professional from the GIS Certification Institute.
