Scott Thomason has had a range of work experiences, starting in 2011 as an Associate Professor at Florida Gateway College. From there, they went on to establish their own construction company, Scott Thomason Signature Construction, where they served as the Managing Member. Scott also held roles as President of the High Springs Chamber of Commerce and President of the Fort White Area Chamber of Commerce, where they worked to promote economic growth within the community. Additionally, Scott served as a Board Member for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Construction Industry Licensing Board. Scott has experience in the public sector as well, working as a Building Official for the City of High Springs and later becoming the Chief Building Official for the City of Tavares and the City of Newberry. Scott has also been involved in local politics, running as a candidate for Commission District 2 in Columbia County. Overall, Scott Thomason has a diverse background encompassing education, entrepreneurship, community development, and public service.
Scott Thomason obtained an Associate's degree in Political Science from Palm Beach Community College from 1992 to 1995. In addition, they have obtained several certifications including Certified Building Official from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation in May 2015, Certified Air Conditioning Contractor, Certified General Contractor, and Certified Plumbing Contractor from the Florida CILB in August 2014.
