Branden Matthews

Branden Matthews, CPA, CGMA, MBA, currently serves as the Senior Accounting Manager for the City of Norfolk, VA, since January 2023. Prior to this role, Branden held the position of Financial Reporting/Compliance Manager at Old Dominion University from May 2021 to January 2023, and previously worked as the Enterprise Controller for the City of Norfolk, VA, from October 2019 to May 2021. Branden's experience also includes a tenure as General Accounting Manager at Norfolk Public Schools and several roles at KPMG US, including Senior Audit Associate and Audit Associate. Additional experience encompasses various accounting positions at Hampton City Schools and serving as President/CEO of Matthews Intercontinental Trading Company, LLC, which focused on providing export services. Branden holds an MBA from Hampton University and a BS in Finance from Old Dominion University.
