Andrea Suarez Abastida

Andrea Suarez Abastida, PMP has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and environmental management.

Starting in 2004, Andrea worked as an Engineer and GIS Analyst at Florida International University. During this time, they conducted research on the treatment of low-level mercury at the Oak Ridge Reservation in Tennessee, specifically focusing on water characterization for batch and column studies.

In 2006, they joined Shaw Environmental, Inc. as an Environmental Engineer, where they worked until 2011.

In 2011, Andrea joined AECOM, where they served as an Environmental Engineer and later as a Program Manager. Andrea'stenure at AECOM lasted until 2021.

Currently, Andrea is the Director of Public Utilities at the City of North Miami Beach. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the operations of NMB Water, which provides water services to over 175,000 customers while ensuring environmental sustainability.

Andrea Suarez Abastida, PMP has a strong educational background in environmental engineering. Andrea completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Universidad Católica de Honduras 'Nuestra Señora Reina de la Paz' between 1996 and 2000. Afterward, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in environmental engineering from Florida International University from 2002 to 2004. These educational achievements highlight Andrea's expertise in the field of environmental engineering.
