Michael Joseph

Michael Joseph, Esq. currently serves as the Mayor of North Miami Beach, a position held since November 2018, overseeing legislative policies impacting 47,000 residents and chairing municipal meetings. Additionally, Michael fulfills the role of Commissioner, where responsibilities include collaborating with the City Manager on a budget exceeding $155 million and managing more than 330 full-time employees. As an attorney at Galbut, Walters & Associates since January 2011, Michael specializes in civil rights litigation and offers legal guidance on immigration matters. Prior experience includes serving as Assistant to the Chief Counsel at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from October 2002 to August 2010, focusing on legal research and drafting appeals. Michael holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from St. Thomas University College of Law and earned an MBA in Public Administration from Florida International University, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems.
