Laura Dent

Laura Dent has extensive experience in both public service and technical writing. Currently serving as a City Council Member and Vice Mayor of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Laura is running for re-election in 2024. Additionally, Laura holds the position of Vice Chair for the Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Federal Advocacy Committee at the National League of Cities. A former Adjunct Faculty member at James Madison University, Laura has also worked as a Localization Engineer at Advanced Language Translation Inc. and as a Technical Writing Consultant for various organizations, including Rosetta Stone and Aker Wade. Laura Dent earned a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, in Russian Language and Literature from Harvard University.
