Jacob Reilly has a diverse and extensive work experience in various planning and leadership roles. Jacob is currently employed as the Community Development Director at the City of Northfield. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Planner at the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities from 2017 to 2022, where they were responsible for supporting regional planning initiatives and providing technical assistance to local governments. Before that, they worked at the City of Saint Paul as a Senior City Planner, overseeing intern programs and analyzing finance, budgeting, and policy initiatives. Jacob also held the position of Project Manager/Planner at the same organization, where they provided land use planning, managed GIS/Research teams, and presented planning cases to officials. Jacob has additional experience as a Transportation Planner at SRF Consulting Group, a Project Coordinator at the City of Minneapolis, and as an Environmental Analyst at the Bureau of Land Management. Jacob Reilly earned a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning with a focus on Economic Development from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. Jacob attended this school from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at St. Olaf College, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English and Medieval Studies between 1994 and 1998. In addition to their academic qualifications, Jacob also holds certifications in LEED Green Associate from the U.S. Green Building Council, which they obtained in April 2012, and in Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council, which they acquired in May 2008.
