Luke McClanahan, AICP, is an experienced city planner currently serving the City of Oakdale, Minnesota, since May 2022. Prior to this role, McClanahan worked for Johnson County, Iowa, from June 2016 to April 2022 as a planner and assistant planner within the Department of Planning, Development & Sustainability, where responsibilities included preparing staff reports and presenting recommendations on various development applications. McClanahan also held positions involving GIS mapping and real estate transactions, as well as experience as a graduate research assistant at the University of Iowa, contributing to the Campus Master Plan. Past roles include an administrative internship for the City of Geneva and service as an infantryman in the Army National Guard. McClanahan holds a Master’s Degree in Urban & Regional Planning and Public Administration, in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.
