Rocky Marquez

Commander at City of Oxnard

Commander Rocky Marquez was born and raised in the City of Oxnard. He attended Sunkist Elementary School, E.O. Green Junior High School and graduated from Hueneme High School. Before beginning his career in law enforcement, he worked for the City of Oxnard Recreation Department at the Durley Park Recreation Center and the Oxnard Police Activities League.

Rocky began his career with the Oxnard Police Department in 2002. He worked as a patrol officer and spent eight years with the Special Enforcement Unit before his promotion to Senior Officer. As a Senior Officer, he worked as a Beat Coordinator and Property Crimes Detective. Rocky was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2016. As a Sergeant, he worked as a Patrol Sergeant, Neighborhood Policing Team Sergeant, Patrol Support/Traffic Unit Sergeant, Explorer Program Sergeant and the Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit Sergeant.

As a Commander assigned to the Field Services Bureau, he currently oversees the South District. His other assignments include the Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit, Neighborhood Policing Team, the Bike Team and the Body Worn Camera System. He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (Class #456) and POST Management School. Rocky has served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Oxnard Police Explorer non-profit organization since 2016.
