Sophie B. serves as the Chief Curator at The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery + Studio18 Art Complex in Pembroke Pines since November 2023, after previously holding the position of Exhibitions Manager at the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami from September 2022 to November 2023. Sophie's professional experience also includes roles as Curator of Exhibitions and Public Art at ArtServe, Inc., Creative Director at Village Design Art Gallery, and Project Research Associate at Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA). Engagements with contemporary art organizations include membership in the International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art since September 2022 and participation in a studio and gallery programs apprenticeship at the Contemporary Art Museum Houston. Educational qualifications consist of a Master of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Arts from The Art Institutes, along with an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Miami Dade College and a Bachelor of Science in Social Anthropology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
