Charlene Dykes-Monroe has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Charlene began their career as a Social Worker at the City of Philadelphia in 1998 and progressed to the role of Social Work Supervisor in 2008. From 2015 to 2018, they served as a Social Work Administrator. In 2018, they were promoted to Director of Monitoring, Evaluations and Quality Improvement, and in 2019, they became the Senior Director of the same department. In addition to their work at the City of Philadelphia, they have also worked as an Instructor at the Child Welfare Resource Center since 2016. Recently, in 2021, they joined Widener University as an Adjunct Professor. Through these roles, Charlene has gained extensive experience and expertise in the field of social work and education.
Charlene Dykes-Monroe attended Bryn Mawr College from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a MSS degree in Social Work. Prior to that, they attended Penn State University from 1990 to 1995, earning a BS degree in Human Development and Family Studies. In addition to their degrees, Charlene also completed various certifications, including the Grant Writing Certificate Program from Temple University in 2021, CPR and Primary First Aid from the American Red Cross in 2016, a Post Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Bryn Mawr College in 2015, and they became a Licensed Social Worker accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of State Licensing Board in 2009.
