Mary Murray has over 18 years of experience in human resources and labour relations. Mary is currently serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer at the City of Port Colborne, where they play a strategic leadership role in developing and implementing human resources strategies. Mary Murray obtained a Certificate in Human Resources Management from Fanshawe College in 2006. Mary then pursued an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Western University, which they completed between 1996 and 2001. Mary continued their education at Queen's University, where they earned a Master of Industrial Relations degree from 2018 to 2021.

Alongside their formal education, Mary has also obtained various certifications. These include a CHRL certification from HRPA - Human Resources Professionals Association, a Collaborative Conflict Resolution certification from Western University, and a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach certification. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in JHSC membership from the Occupational Safety Group and Mental Health First Aid from the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
