Schwerdt Colt has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. In 2004, they worked as an Assistant Engineer/AutoCAD Tech at Lewis-Bade, Inc., where they gained experience in subdivision design and surveying. Schwerdt then worked as an Assistant Engineer/AutoCAD Tech at Cole & Associates, Inc. in 2006. From 2007 to 2012, Schwerdt Colt worked at AECOM Technical Service, Inc. as an Assistant Engineer II, where they managed projects, conducted construction inspections, and performed survey field work. Schwerdt joined the City of Port St. Lucie in 2012 as a Civil Engineer and stayed until 2020. In 2020, they became a Project Manager at Giangrande Engineering and Planning LLC. Schwerdt currently holds the positions of Assistant Public Works Director & City Engineer and Assistant Public Works Director at the City of Port St. Lucie, starting in 2022.
Schwerdt Colt obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology from 2001 to 2006.
