Shai Roos

Shai Roos, AICP, has extensive experience in urban planning and development services, currently serving as the Director of Development Services for the City of Princeton, Texas since October 2025. Prior roles include Urban Planning Practice Principal at HDR from December 2021 to September 2025, and Senior Associate/Urban Planning Group Lead at Stantec from August 2016 to December 2021. Additionally, Shai Roos was an Adjunct Professor at the School of Urban and Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Arlington from January 2005 to May 2017, and served as Principal/Owner at SJR Planning Consultants and Planning and Development Manager at Walton Development and Management. Previous leadership positions also include Director of Community Development for the City of Burleson and Chief Planner for the City of Dallas. Shai Roos holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Pune, India.
