Ken McMullen serves as the Fire Chief and Manager of Emergency Services for the City of Red Deer since February 2018. Prior to this role, McMullen held the title of Assistant Deputy Chief with the City of Calgary from January 2009 to February 2018 and served in the City of Airdrie Fire Department from January 2006 to January 2008. Additionally, McMullen worked as a Provincial Fire Investigator/Inspector for the Government of Alberta's Office of the Fire Commissioner between April 2000 and May 2007. Educational qualifications include a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University, a degree from the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative at Harvard University, an Advanced Certificate in Labour Relations from Queen's University, and a Bachelor of Applied Business in Emergency Services from Lakeland College.
