Josh Rubin

City Attorney at City of Rio Rancho

Josh Rubin is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in various capacities within the legal field. Currently serving as City Attorney for the City of Rio Rancho since August 2018, Josh has also held positions as Deputy City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney. Previously, in the State of New Mexico Office of the 2nd Judicial District Attorney, Josh worked as an Assistant District Attorney, focusing on prosecution. Prior roles include Contracts Manager at Fidelity Investments, where Josh negotiated retirement benefit contracts, and volunteer work with the International Detention Coalition, contributing to a legal guide. Josh’s legal experience began with a Summer Legal Internship at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, followed by service as a Peace Corps Volunteer, where community development and business consulting were key responsibilities. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Law (JD) from The University of New Mexico School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance and Economics from UNM Anderson School of Management.
