Woody Gontina

Woody Gontina is an experienced professional in the construction and planning sectors, currently serving as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Royal Oak, MI, since January 2020. In addition to this role, Woody chairs the Royal Oak Environmental Advisory Board and has been an active member of the USGBC - Detroit Regional Chapter since 2007. Previous positions include Vice President at CSM Group, Market Development Manager - Construction and Market Segment Manager - Residential at BASF, and Owner of Gontina Building & Design, which focused on environmentally responsible building practices. Woody’s early career included a role as Development Manager at DPR Construction. Woody holds a degree in Construction Management from Michigan State University, earned from 1992 to 1996.
