John Valdivia serves as the 29th Mayor of San Bernardino, having been elected on November 6, 2018, and inaugurated on December 19, 2018, after previously representing Ward 3 as a Councilman. Valdivia's political career includes serving as Mayor Pro Tem, wherein responsibilities included assuming mayoral duties in the mayor's absence and forming ad hoc committees. Prior to public service, Valdivia held various roles in the pharmaceutical industry, including positions at Amgen, Merck, GSK, and Solvay Pharmaceutical. Valdivia holds a Master of Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University, a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Evangel University.
