Edward Perea

Edward Perea is a seasoned law enforcement professional with extensive experience in background investigations and policing. Currently serving as a Senior Background Investigator for the City of San José since April 2019, Edward ensures the recruitment of qualified candidates for various law enforcement roles. Holding a parallel position as a Background Investigator for the San Jose Police Department since March 2017, Edward previously contributed to criminal justice education as a Criminal Justice Instructor at Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program from 2018 to June 2019. Edward's prior tenure with the City of San José from December 1994 to January 2017 included roles such as Police Supervisor, where significant leadership and crisis management skills were developed. Earlier experience as a Police Officer with the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit Police Department established a strong foundation in police operations and investigations. Edward holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from California State University - East Bay.
