Maria V., MPP, currently serves as a Program Performance Auditor II at the City of San José, with experience dating back to February 2023. Previously, Maria held roles such as Strategic Initiatives Advisor for the Office of Mayor Sam Liccardo and Policy Consultant at the California Senate Office of Research. Maria's background includes significant involvement in higher education advocacy, demonstrated through work at the University of California, Berkeley's Policy Advocacy Clinic and The Century Foundation. Furthermore, Maria has a longstanding commitment to supporting low-income, first-generation college students, highlighted in positions at Breakthrough Silicon Valley and Sacred Heart Nativity Schools, where Maria directed a Graduate Support Program that achieved notable success in high school placement and graduation rates. Maria holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, along with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Santa Clara University.
