Micah Hinkle currently serves as the Director of Community & Economic Development for the City of San Rafael, a position held since November 2022. Previously, Micah held multiple roles within the City of Oakland, including Economic and Workforce Deputy Director, focusing on business and economic development, land use strategic planning, and community improvement initiatives from October 2018 to November 2022. Prior experience includes serving as Economic Development Manager for the City of Hayward (September 2014 - October 2018) and Assistant City Manager for the City of Cotati (September 2012 - June 2014). Micah started a career in public service as a Sr. Project Coordinator for the City of Napa (2006 - 2012) and as a Community Development City Planner for the City of San Rafael (1999 - 2006). Educational credentials include a Double BA in Economics and Environmental Studies and Planning from Sonoma State University, earned between 1997 and 1999.
