Amber Richane has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Amber started their career in 1999 as a space planner at OEI, where they completed space planning projects for government agencies. Amber then worked as a designer at Martinez & Johnson Architecture, where they worked on construction documents for the adaptive reuse of buildings. From 2001 to 2004, they worked as a designer at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Amber then joined Streetsense as an Associate Planner, managing the design process for the National Harbor project. In 2006, they joined CallisonRTKL as the Performance Driven Design (PDD) Lead and an urban planner. Amber'smost recent work experience is at the City of Santa Monica, where they have held various roles including Chief Operating Officer-Special Projects, interim and Senior Design Manager for the Architecture Services division in Public Works.
Amber Richane completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design for Interiors at Syracuse University from 1994 to 1998. Amber then pursued a Master's degree in Urban and Environmental Planning at the University of Virginia from 2000 to 2003. Additionally, they obtained several certifications throughout their career, including LEED-AP BD+C in 2004, NCIDQ in 2001, Certified Sustainable Building Advisor in 2009, LEED-AP ND in 2010, FitWel Ambassador in 2016, and WELL - AP from the International WELL Building Institute in 2018.
