Chris Schultz has more than 18 years of work experience in various roles related to GIS and information technology. Chris most recently worked as the Assistant Director of Information Technology at the City of Shafter, where they implemented ArcGIS Online and developed mapping applications. Prior to this, they served as the GIS Coordinator at the same company, responsible for field data collection workflows and automation tasks for the Public Works Department. Chris also worked as the Program Coordinator and Adjunct Professor at California State University, Bakersfield, where they established and coordinated the GIS Certification Program. Chris served as the President of the Central California Chapter of URISA. Additionally, Chris has experience as a GIS Analyst at The City of Bakersfield and Applus+ RTD, a lead GIS Analyst at a pipeline inspection company. Chris also worked as a Program Specialist at the U.S. Department of State and held research and teaching positions at The University Corporation at California State University, Northridge and California State University, Northridge respectively. Chris began their career as a Combat Medic in the United States Air Force and later worked as a Medical Technician at USAFA 10th Medical Group.

Chris Schultz received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography & Environmental Studies, with a concentration in Physical Geography & GIScience, from the University of Colorado in 2010. Chris later pursued a Master of Arts degree in BioGeography from California State University, Northridge, which they completed in 2013.
