Anna Mates

Anna Mates is a skilled planner currently employed by the City of Shaker Heights since July 2022. Prior experience includes over a decade at Kent State University, where roles ranged from Director of Special Projects within the College of the Arts, focusing on major events and strategic planning, to various program management positions that emphasized operations, marketing, and stakeholder engagement. Earlier career positions include roles in retail merchandising at The Limited and academic instruction at The Ohio State University. Anna holds a Master of Urban Planning and Development from Cleveland State University, a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Design from the Boston Architectural College, a Master of Architecture from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Kent State University.
