Jae Hill has a diverse work experience in the field of planning and development. They have served as the Community & Economic Development Director for the City of Shelton in Washington since 2022. Prior to that, Jae worked as the Principal of a strategic planning firm called Evermost, where they focused on resiliency, municipal planning, and organizational management.
Jae has also held roles such as Principal Planner for King County, WA, where they managed the Utilities Technical Review Committee and handled water, wastewater, and school siting issues. They were also the Planning Director for the City of Big Bear Lake, where they managed a staff of five and worked on economic development and environmental issues.
Other positions held by Jae include Long-Range Planning Manager and Senior Planner for the City of Redmond, Community Development Director for the City of Sun Valley, Deputy Planning Director for Fairbanks North Star Borough, Assistant Planner for the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Environmental Planner for EPG, and Associate Planner for the City of Sierra Madre.
Throughout their career, Jae has demonstrated skills in managing budgets, conducting reviews and analysis, drafting legislation, and overseeing staff.
Jae Hill has a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, which was earned from 2006 to 2011. From 2012 to 2014, Jae pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management from the University of Nevada-Reno. Prior to that, from 2002 to 2004, Jae completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Geography from the University of Utah. In 2013, Jae also obtained certifications as a Certified Floodplain Manager from the Association of State Floodplain Managers and as an American Institute of Certified Planner from the American Planning Association.
