Brian Herman

Brian Herman has extensive experience in emergency services and public safety, currently serving as the Acting Chief Fire Alarm Operator for the City of Somerville since July 2002, transitioning from the role of Fire Alarm Operator. In addition to this, Brian has been the Secretary for Worcester Box 4 Special Services Canteen since August 2012, overseeing a public safety canteen operation. Brian also works as a Dispatcher for the Norwood Fire Department and served as Director for the Boston Sparks Association from January 2014 to March 2018. Early career experience includes a role as a Communications Dispatcher for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. Brian holds an Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts from Newbury College and another in Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Management from Quincy College, complemented by a high school diploma from Newman School.
