Shannon Halstead serves as a Major in the Crimes Against Persons Division at the City of St. Petersburg, where responsibilities include overseeing the Major Crimes Unit and various specialized teams addressing issues such as gun reduction, crimes against children, personal violence, digital forensics, and internet crimes. Halstead has held multiple leadership positions throughout a diverse law enforcement career, including oversight of the Training Division and responsibilities within Vice & Narcotics, Uniform Services, and Investigative Services. Additionally, Halstead is a Board Member for Girls on the Run Greater Tampa Bay, promoting positive youth development for girls. Educational achievements include a B.S. in Justice Studies/Psychology from Georgia Southern University, a Master's Degree in Criminology from Florida Metropolitan University, and participation in the Senior Management Institute for Police at Boston University.
