Michael McDowell

Michael McDowell has extensive work experience in planning and community development. Michael started their career at Altrans, Inc. in 1993 as a Program Manager, where they worked until 1997. McDowell then joined San Joaquin County Public Works as a Senior Planner from 1997 to 2004. Michael later joined the City of Stockton, CA, where they held various roles including Planning Manager from 2004 to 2018, CDD Deputy Director of Planning & Engineering from 2018 to 2022, and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Community Development starting in October 2022.

Michael McDowell earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from San Jose State University. Michael attended the university from 1991 to 1993.
