Roz Johnson, M.Ed., IPMA-SCP, PHR has extensive experience in human resources, spanning over three decades. Roz began their career in the banking industry, where they worked as a Human Resources Analyst and Generalist for seventeen years. During this time, they gained valuable knowledge and skills in all HR competencies, thanks to the guidance and support of experienced mentors.
In 2000, Johnson joined the Martin County Board of County Commissioners as a Senior Human Resources Analyst. Here, they cultivated strategic partnerships with various departments and provided guidance and support to employees at all levels. In 2005, they were promoted to HR Manager within Fire Rescue exclusively, while still assisting other departments when needed. Roz served in this role until 2010.
Following their tenure with the Martin County Board of County Commissioners, Johnson joined Martin County Fire Rescue / Martin County BOCC as the Fire Rescue Human Resources Manager. In this position, they acted as an advisor to the Fire Chief, offering guidance and support in all HR competencies. Roz specialized in workplace investigations, learning and development programming, process improvements, communication strategies, and collaboration. Additionally, they actively participated in collective bargaining with two labor unions.
In 2010, Johnson transitioned to the City of Stuart, where they currently work as the Human Resources Director. Their expertise and experience continue to serve their well in this role.
