Marquita Chong's work experience includes several administrative assistant roles at the City of Toledo, where they worked from 2013 to the present. Marquita has also served as the owner of Divine Elegance Event Planning Services, LLC since 2020. Additionally, Marquita has held positions as a member of the Board of Trustees at NeighborWorks America and as a member of the Board of Directors at Pathway, Inc. In previous roles, they worked as a medical insurance specialist extern at the Lucas County Health Department and as a collection agent at Alliance One. Marquita began their career as an order entry pharmaceutical technician at Omnicare Inc. from 2007 to 2009.

Marquita Chong completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a College Diploma in Medical Insurance Specialist from Professional Skills Institute in 2012 and 2013. Marquita Chong has obtained additional certifications in Train the Trainer for Safety from the Bureau of Workers Compensation in February 2017, Notary Public in September 2016, CPR in April 2013, and HIPAA in October 2012.
