Derek Zarn

Derek Zarn has had extensive work experience in marketing and communications. Derek started their career at the City of Ames, Iowa in 2013 as a Graphics & Print Technician. In 2017, they joined the City of Urbandale, where they held various roles including Marketing and Communications Specialist and Marketing and Communications Specialist II. Currently, Derek is serving as the Director of Marketing and Communications at the City of Urbandale.

Derek Zarn attended Iowa State University from 2007 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Derek also has additional certifications in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross, Analytics Certification from Google, Bleeding Control Basic v. 1 from the American College of Surgeons, and ERW and IED Awareness from the United Nations.
