Miguel Castillo

Miguel Castillo is a highly experienced Senior Urban Designer and Development Planner with expertise in urban design, development permits, and rezoning applications within Vancouver's Metro Core. Since May 2017, Miguel has led teams of architects and planners at the City of Vancouver, overseeing complex projects and enhancing urban design analysis across the Urban Design division. Previous experience includes leadership roles at Perkins+Will and HCMA Architecture + Design, where project management encompassed significant mixed-use and master planning initiatives. Miguel holds advanced degrees in architecture and urbanism, including a Master of Architecture and Historical Heritage, and has operated a personal architecture firm, managing all phases of project development.
