Richard Thompson

Richard Thompson, M.A, currently serves as the Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of Williston, North Dakota, since July 2025. Previously, Richard held the position of Director of Community and Economic Development in the City of Long Branch from February 2022 to July 2025, where management of significant County, State, and Federal programs and yearly allocations of $1,000,000 to $1,600,000 focused on affordable housing and economic development took place. Richard's experience also includes roles as Urban Enterprise Zone Coordinator and Assistant Director of the Office of Community and Economic Development in Long Branch, contributing to enhanced economic initiatives and sustainability efforts. In addition to urban development roles, Richard is the owner and UAV Operator of Jersey Shore Aerial Solutions and has gained valuable experience in public service through internship positions in Montclair. Richard holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Dakota and a Master of Arts in Law and Governance from Montclair State University.
