Rich Worsinger

Director of Wilson Energy Utilities at City of Wilson

Rich Worsinger is responsible for the City’s municipally-owned electric and natural gas utilities. He has been with the City since 2019, bringing with him over 35 years of experience in the utility industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electric Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, and is a licensed professional engineer in North Carolina. Before joining the City, Rich served as the Director of Energy Resources for the City of Rocky Mount, NC for 18 years where he was responsible for their electric and natural gas utilities.

Before moving to North Carolina, Rich spent most of his professional career holding various engineering and management positions in both the electric and gas departments at Public Service Electric and Gas Company in New Jersey. He currently serves as Treasurer for the American Public Gas Association’s Board of Directors, and is on the Board of Directors of the Carolinas Public Gas Association. He serves as an industry representative on the US Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's Gas Pipeline Advisory Committee. He is also an Alternate Commissioner for the North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency’s Board of Commissioners.
