Janelle Octavia Silva has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Janelle began their career as a Circulation Clerk at the Skokie Public Library in 2001. Later, they served as the Farmers' Market Manager at the Skokie Farmers' Market, where they were responsible for vendor selection, certification, and market operations. In their role as an Administrative Assistant and Staff Liaison to the Consumer Affairs Commission at the Village of Skokie, Janelle supported marketing and communication efforts and coordinated consumer activities. Janelle then joined Fitness Formula Clubs as a Fitness Instructor, where they provided indoor cycling instruction and utilized music to create an exciting atmosphere. Janelle also worked as a Certified Running Coach for the Road Runners Club of America, supporting runners of all levels. Currently, they serve as the Director of Community Relations at the City of Wood Dale, overseeing communications, special events, and community outreach.
