Overview

The Recruitment Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and selecting outstanding talent to apply to City Teaching Alliance’s teacher preparation program located in Dallas, Washington, DC and Baltimore. This includes establishing a significant regional presence for City Teaching Alliance and its brand, building key strategic partnerships, conducting outreach to potential candidates, recruiting at colleges and universities, and attending/participating in/developing and leading events within an assigned territory to attract candidates to apply for and join the City Teaching Alliance Residency program. The Recruitment Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Recruitment and works on the regional, remote Recruitment Team.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead Generation

  • Source and maintain a pipeline of diverse candidates utilizing LinkedIn, Handshake, RippleMatch, Google, and other platforms

  • Set recruitment strategy and vision at portfolio schools and with partner organizations

  • Manage relationships with University Career Centers and national professional organizations to support recruitment

  • Research and build a portfolio of contacts across regional partner organizations and colleges/universities as well as local partner schools to identify potential City Teaching Alliance candidates

Candidate Cultivation and Stewardship

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with prospective participants throughout the application process through virtual and in-person interactions

  • Send weekly outreach invitations to prospective candidates driving them to apply or meet with a recruiter

  • Conduct meetings with candidates and stakeholders to discuss the City Teaching Alliance mission, vision, and program

  • Invest candidates in our program through storytelling and compelling conversations

  • Support and steward candidates through the application process through ongoing cultivation and follow ups

  • Uncover key motivations and barriers of prospects to identify most compelling levers for prospect conversions

  • Meet weekly benchmarks and goals around meeting conversions, application benchmarks, and event partnerships

Building Partnerships

  • Build partnerships across the team and organization, including site team members, to invest in recruitment best practices and support

  • Build partnerships with university stakeholders, campus organizations, and candidate networks to bring additional prospects into the recruitment funnel

Data Management and Analysis

  • Manage recruitment data in Salesforce, ensuring clean and accurate inputs

  • Take detailed notes on prospect conversations in order to track progress and monitor follow-up

  • Strategize and manipulate data in Salesforce to identify key areas of opportunity

Culture and Learning

  • Positively contribute to and help shape a healthy and thriving team culture

  • Commit to anti-racist behaviors and actions

  • Seek and implement feedback and engage in learning conversations

Selection and Matriculation

  • Participate in teacher selection and interview days

  • Build and maintain relationships across regional teams to support and enhance recruitment efforts

  • Steward candidates through the application process

  • Support in the confirmation and retention of accepted candidates through ongoing check-ins and cultivation

Target Start Date: September 16, 2024

Location: Remote, with strong preference for DC, Baltimore, Dallas, and Philadelphia.  We do not provide relocation costs.

Time Commitment & Compensation: $66,828 & is subject to a geographic differential which could increase or decrease it by 4% or 8% depending on city of residence. We are an anti-racist organization that prioritizes equity so we do not negotiate salaries.

Job Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. degree from an accredited institution

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

  • Results oriented and motivated by clear goals

  • Ability to analyze data and use analysis to inform strategies and recruitment efforts

  • Self-directed and a self-starter who is comfortable operating in gray space

  • Ability to work as a part of a remote team

  • Ability to travel independently occasionally throughout the country as needed to support the regional recruitment efforts

  • Willingness and ability to attend events in the evenings and on the weekends as necessary

  • Previous experience in recruitment or sales

  • Experience working with Salesforce or other constituent relationship management platforms highly preferred

  • Previous experience in education or education non-profits highly preferred

  • Experience using Handshake or LinkedIn for employers highly preferred
