Alejandra Garcia

Alejandra Garcia has extensive experience in educational and community service roles, currently serving as the Community School Director at City Year since August 2022. Prior to this role, Alejandra worked as a Family Planning Health Educator at Community Healthcare Network and as an English Second Language Teacher at VIPKid. Additional positions include Crisis Counselor at RiseBoro Community Partnership and Youth & Families Development Specialist with the Peace Corps. Alejandra also served as a College Success Counselor at New Settlement Apartments and held various roles at Purchase College, such as Peer Student Counselor and Freshmen Peer Advisor. Early career experiences include working as a College Coach at The Urban Assembly, Inc. and a Child Care Provider's Assistant at Ginandy’s Day Care. Alejandra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Purchase College, SUNY, obtained in 2015.
