Head Of Commercial - BDUK at CityFibre

Martin Kemp has a diverse work history spanning over 20 years. Martin began their career at BT Global Services in 1997, where they served as a Programme Manager for the Defence Fixed Telecommunications Service contract. In this role, they successfully facilitated the implementation of a complex TDM multiplexor network.

In 2001, Martin transitioned to the position of Senior Account Manager at BT Global Services, where they supported AOL UK in launching AOL Broadband. During their four-year tenure, they played a pivotal role in the rapid growth of the account by proposing strategic proposals such as DSL CPE and Dial IP.

Moving on to BT Wholesale in 2005, Martin assumed the role of Senior Account Manager on the THUS account team. Martin excelled in generating additional revenue from THUS' Business ISP, Demon, through the management of complex contracts involving third parties within the BT group.

Returning to BT Global Services in 2010, Martin took on the responsibilities of Public Sector Business Development Director. Martin partnered with local authorities and devolved governments to roll out BT Next Generation Access and led all commercial negotiations and bid responses.

Martin joined CityFibre in 2016, initially serving as Senior Business Development - Public Sector before progressing to the role of Head of Commercial - BDUK. In this position, they led market engagement and bidding for subsidies under the Project Gigabit program executed by BDUK, positioning CityFibre as a strategic partner to the UK government.

Throughout their career, Martin Kemp has demonstrated a strong ability to drive revenue and margin growth, negotiate and develop strategic partnerships, and successfully manage complex projects.

Martin Kemp attended Highbury Technology College from 1990 to 1993, where they obtained an HND degree in Telecommunications.
