Richard Thorpe

Richard leads CityFibre’s Delivery team, managing the 18 construction companies currently building across our 12 cities and expected to be building in 40 cities by the end of 2020.

Before joining CityFibre, Richard was Chief Information Officer for the Digicel Group, looking after the IT strategy and transformation of the entire BSS estate. He previously worked as Head of Fibre Deployment at Vodafone, where he was responsible for the business case for the UK rollout of fibre to the home.

Richard spent four years in Australia as Head of Design and Construction for the Government’s National Broadband Network deploying FTTH to Australia’s 22 Million households. He also spent seven years with BT Openreach responsible for the Ethernet product portfolio, as well as holding senior positions with Scottish Telecom and Level 3 Communications. Richard also served for 13 years with the Royal Navy.
