Nia Smith is a Board Member at Brooklyn Heights Community Garden since January 2024 and serves as Community Design Coordinator at Civic Design Center since May 2023. Previously, Nia worked as a Project Administrator at Moody Nolan from September 2021 to May 2023, and briefly held the position of Grants Council Member at Patagonia in late 2022. Nia's earlier roles include Climate & Infrastructure Strategist at United People Project and Advocacy Fellow at Sustainable Partners, Inc., both in 2021, as well as Environmental Outreach and Community Organizer at The Social Impact Center. Nia holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Howard University, completed in 2021, and studied at Los Angeles Trade Technical College from 2018 to 2020.
