Shira M.

Shira M. has extensive work experience in various leadership and advisory roles. Shira's most recent position is as the Chief Program & Strategy Officer at Civic Nation, where they began working in January 2021. Prior to that, Shira served as the Senior Advisor & Chief Strategy Officer at When We All Vote from July 2019 to January 2021. Shira also held the role of Managing Director at Civic Advisors from July 2019 to December 2020.

Before joining Civic Advisors, Shira worked at Analyst Institute, where they were a Senior Advisor from July 2019 to December 2019, and later became the Director of Partnerships & Political Strategy from November 2017 to June 2019.

Shira has also worked independently as a Consultant from November 2015 to September 2018. In addition, Shira held various positions at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, including Acting Associate Director for Climate Preparedness, Advisor for Climate and Resilience, and Special Assistant to the Chair, where they provided support and drafted policy and briefing memos for the Chair.

Shira has further experience as a Democratic Governance Program Fellow at Harvard Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, where they explored trends in urban voting and the consequences of low turnout for democratic representation.

Earlier in their career, Shira served as the Senior Advisor & Consultant at Civic Nation, leading initiatives to increase voter participation and focusing on federal government engagement and public-private partnerships. They also worked at the Alliance for Climate Protection as the Repower at Home National Field Director and at Organizing for America as the Iowa State Field Director.

Shira M. completed a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a Certificate in Management, Leadership, and Decision Making Sciences from Harvard Kennedy School in 2017. Before that, they attended Wesleyan University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American Studies/Ethnic Studies. Additionally, Shira M. pursued Spanish and Social Sciences studies at the University of Buenos Aires, although the specific degree obtained is not provided.
