Aneesa Mitchell

Aneesa Mitchell has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Aneesa is currently working as a Commercial Counsel at Civis Analytics since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Manager, Sourcing Contracts at The Chamberlain Group from July 2018 to June 2021.

Aneesa also has experience in the non-profit sector, serving as a Consultant and Research and Legal Fellow at the International Human Rights Association of American Minorities from August 2011 to February 2019. Aneesa also worked as an Associate Attorney at the Law Office of Gregory A. Mitchell & Associates from April 2017 to July 2018.

In addition, Aneesa worked at Axiom as a Senior Contract Analyst and Team Lead Negotiator from December 2016 to July 2018, and as a Contract Analyst from June 2016 to December 2016. Aneesa has also had teaching experience, serving as a Professor Adjunct at East-West University in April and June 2013.

Aneesa has been involved in policy and research work as a Policy and Research Fellow at Organizing for America - Virginia in June and August 2012. Aneesa has also gained legal experience through volunteer positions as a Volunteer Student Attorney at The George Washington University Law School Innocence Project from January to May 2011, and as a Student Attorney at The George Washington University Law School Clinic from August to December 2010.

Furthermore, Aneesa has gained exposure to human rights issues through their role as a Summer Law Clerk at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights from May to August 2010.

Aneesa Mitchell earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy from Cornell University in the years 2002 to 2006. Following that, they pursued legal studies at The George Washington University Law School and obtained a Juris Doctor degree from 2008 to 2011. In 2009, Aneesa attended the University of Oxford, where they obtained a Certificate in International Human Rights Law. Additionally, they have also acquired the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in August 2022.
