The Organisation:

Civtec was established in 2014 and provides civil, and utilities infrastructure works across telecommunications, three waters, and energy.  Since inception, we have continued to diversify and now have capabilities covering a range of services and technologies servicing the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.  We have a dedicated team across New Zealand of operational field force, customer service and business support teams, using the latest technology and high-quality machinery to provide a leading service second to none.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role leads our North Island Operations. We are looking for an experienced, savvy, driven, and competent Operations Manager to lead and implement the operational goals for Civtec in the North Island. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful applicant will drive forward positive changes, unlocking opportunities for efficiency and ensuring we are running a sharp operation. You will need to have a sense of humour and a can-do attitude, without losing your professionalism, strong initiative, confident communication skills and strong business acumen. 

As the North Island Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting the department managers to run efficient, profitable operations in line with company and client requirements.

  • Providing operational and commercial advice to support sound and astute decision making

  • Championing the businesses commitment to Health and Safety

  • Providing leadership, role modelling best practice and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

  • Create/build and maintain relationships with internal/external customers and stakeholders

  • Meet business KPIs and gross profit margins set by the business strategy

  • Support the team to adhere to best practice tendering, strict turnaround on pricing quotes and tenders

  • Providing leadership and role model the values and critical success factors across Civtec.

To be successful in this role, we are seeking candidates with:

  • A qualification in Civil Engineering

  • At least 15 years’ experience in an operational leadership role within the civil construction industry

  • A track record and ability to create and lead a profitable operational division of a company

  • Extensive operational planning and implementation experience across a variety of infrastructure disciplines

  • A demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people at all levels

  • Strong work ethic, driven by results

  • Confident communicator and team player
