Heike Truol has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various industries and roles. Heike began their career in the tourism and hospitality industry, working in Germany, Switzerland, and Australia from 1993 to 1999. Heike then worked as a Consultant at Deloitte Consulting in 2000-2001 before joining Mainsheet Corporate, a boutique strategy consulting, and corporate advisory firm, where they served as a Manager from 2002 to 2005. Heike then moved on to Marakon, a global strategy consulting firm, where they started as a Senior Consultant in 2005 and was promoted to Partner in 2008. In 2009, Heike joined Anglo American, a mining company, where they held various senior roles including Group Head of Strategy and Executive Head of Commercial Services until 2020. During their time at Anglo American, they led global teams, developed strategies, established offices in China and India, and played a key role in the company's digital transformation efforts. In 2020, Heike took on the role of Chief Commercial Officer/Advisor at Minehub Technologies, a technology company focused on digitizing the mining and metals supply chain. Heike is also the Founder of Exelerate Ltd, which they established in the same year. Heike Truol is currently serving as a Non-Executive Director at Clarkson Plc.

Heike Truol's education history begins in 1990 when they attended the Schweizerische Tourismusfachschule. Heike completed their Bachelor's degree in Business (equivalent) with a focus on Tourism Management in 1992. In 1999, they pursued their MBA at AGSM @ UNSW Business School, which they completed in 2000. In 2004, Heike began a Graduate Certificate in Finance & Investments at the Australian Securities Institute, but did not finish the program. In 2012, they attended INSEAD and studied Corporate Financial Strategy in Global Markets. In 2015, they participated in the Spencer Stuart Directors Forum program at the London Business School. Most recently, in 2021, Heike Truol completed a program in Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge.
