Kanchana Fernando

Kanchana Fernando has a diverse work history spanning various industries and roles. Kanchana is currently working as a Business Manager at Claros Technologies Inc. since February 2023. Prior to this, Kanchana founded an ethical fashion brand called Certitude by K in August 2020, focusing on social and environmental sustainability. From 2006 to the present, Kanchana has been an Entrepreneur at Sanathana Batiks, managing a showroom and producing customized batik clothing for both local and foreign markets. Kanchana also has experience as a Business Manager at Bodyline from September 2019 to February 2023, where they were responsible for customer onboarding, strategy development, trend analysis, and product portfolio expansion.

Earlier in their career, Kanchana worked at MAS Holdings from 2011 to 2019, starting as a Merchandiser and eventually becoming an Assistant Manager. Kanchana handled end-to-end merchandising for Nike Licensees and affiliated brands, developed new business opportunities, and worked directly with different companies for product development. Kanchana also had a role as a Research Analyst at Nielsen during their internship in 2010, where they analyzed and presented consumer product data.

Additionally, Kanchana has held positions as the Vice President of Public Relations at Panadura Toastmasters Club from 2015 to 2016, and as a Trainee Manager at Studio Faiza Samee, Pakistan in 2010. Kanchana was involved in various responsibilities such as protecting the Toastmasters brand, developing a public relations plan, and managing international clothing orders.

In 2009, Kanchana worked as a Facilitator at CIMA Business Division Sri Lanka, where they contributed to the planning and coordination of the CIMA Business Leaders' Summit, focusing on addressing national financial issues and adapting to the changing commercial landscape in Sri Lanka.

Kanchana Fernando attended SIRIMAVO BANDARANAIKE VIDYALAYA from 1996 to 2004 and studied Mathematics there. After completing high school, they enrolled in the University of Sri Jayewardenepura from 2007 to 2009. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree majoring in Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
