Hobbs Cheek has over 30 years of work experience in the financial industry. Hobbs has served as Chief Financial Officer for multiple organizations, including Class Act Federal Credit Union, where they currently hold the position. In this role, they are responsible for strategic guidance, budgeting, asset/liability management, financial reporting, and accounting oversight. Hobbs also oversees the Quality Assurance and Compliance area, Payments Operations area, and accounting group. Prior to their current role, Hobbs Cheek worked at Stock Yards Bank & Trust as Vice President and Financial Reporting Manager. Hobbs also served as Chief Financial Officer at Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Company for over 20 years. Hobbs has experience in loan review, internal auditing, and investment specialist roles early in their career. Additionally, they worked at Appalachian Computer Services as a Staff Accountant.
Hobbs Cheek obtained their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 1991. In 1995, they also obtained a certification as a Certified Public Accountant from the institution of Kentucky.

Class Act Federal Credit Union
Class Act Federal Credit Union was established by a small group of JCPS teachers in 1954 to serve the personal finance needs of JCPS teachers and other school employees. At that time, teachers had very limited access to loans or credit of any kind. The credit union filled this need and did so at very competitive rates. Other area school districts expressed interest, and within a few short years, the credit union was serving all public school employees in the Metro Louisville area as well as employees from a good number of private schools. In 1994, Class Act’s field of membership was expanded to include the University of Louisville by way of a merger with the University of Louisville Student & Alumni Credit Union. Today, although the banking industry has changed dramatically, the credit union’s mission remains virtually the same – to serve the personal finance needs of our local educational community. As a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative, our focus is to serve the best interests of our member-owners.
