Becky Smith

Becky Smith has a strong work experience in the field of firefighting and emergency response. Becky started their career as a Firefighter/Paramedic at Clay County Fire/Rescue in 1996 and worked there until 2007. During this time, they gained experience and expertise in emergency medical services and firefighting. In 2007, they joined the Clay County Board of County Commissioners as a Fire Captain and served in that role until 2017. As a Fire Captain, they were responsible for leading and managing a battalion, ensuring staffing requirements were met, and providing assistance in the County's Emergency Operations Center. From 2017 onwards, they took on the role of Acting Battalion Chief at the Clay County Board of County Commissioners, where they continued to oversee the daily operations of a battalion and provide support in emergency situations. In September 2018, Becky became a permanent Battalion Chief at the same organization, demonstrating their expertise and leadership capabilities in the field.

Becky Smith's education history begins in 1989 when they attended St. Johns River State College and earned an Associate's Degree in E.M.S. Management. Becky then went on to Florida State College at Jacksonville from 1993 to 1995, where they studied Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting and Related Protective Services. During the same period, they also pursued Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) at the same institution.

Becky completed their education at St. Johns River State College in 2000, where they attained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Emergency Medical Services.
