Katie Indarawis, PhD, started their work experience in 2007 as a Lab Technician at Engineering Performance Solutions, LLC. In this role, they conducted routine testing on activated carbon and performed experiments for the removal of mercury from both air and liquid phases. Katie then worked as a Statistical Consultant at HOPE Worldwide Afghanistan in 2009, where they conducted statistical analysis for a pilot study on maternal and child care services. Katie also presented and defended statistical methodology to the Ministry of Public Health in Kabul. Starting in 2009, they joined the University of Florida, initially as a PhD Candidate in Environmental Engineering Sciences. Katie'sresearch focused on pre-treatment technologies to reduce fouling of reverse osmosis membranes. Katie also served as the chairperson for the Environmental Engineering Sciences Graduate Student Advisory Group. Subsequently, they held various roles at the University of Florida, including Research Assistant Professor, where they taught sustainable engineering and water and wastewater treatment courses to undergraduate students. Katie also developed and taught courses on life cycle assessment and sustainable construction. Additionally, they led and assisted in the development of grant proposals. In 2020, they became an Engineer In Training at Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc.
Katie Indarawis, PhD, has an extensive education history. Katie completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Statistics at the University of Florida from 1999 to 2002. Additionally, during the same period, they also pursued a Master of Science in Instruction and Curriculum, specializing in Secondary Mathematics Education. Later, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida from 2005 to 2007. Katie furthered their studies at the University of Florida and earned a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering Sciences alongside a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the same field from 2009 to 2013. Katie'seducational background showcases their interdisciplinary expertise in the fields of mathematics, statistics, education, and engineering.
