Anna Freeman

Policy Director, Decarbonisation at Clean Energy Council

Anna Freeman is the Director of Renewable Hydrogen & Electrification at Clean Energy Council.

Anna has over 10 years experience in public affairs and corporate communications, having worked across a range of industries including mining, renewable energy and climate change.

Most recently, Anna was the Corporate Communications Manager at Newcrest Mining, Australia's largest gold company. In this role, they were responsible for managing media relations, community engagement and internal communications.

Prior to that, Anna worked as a Media Adviser for the Climate Change Authority, where they provided advice to the Australian Government on emissions goals and renewable energy policies.

Anna has also held roles as a Regional Communications & Stakeholder Manager for John Holland and as a Public Affairs Manager for the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission and the Garnaut Climate Change Review.

In their current role at Clean Energy Council, Anna is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Council's hydrogen and electrification strategy.

Anna Freeman has a Masters of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from RMIT University.

Anna Freeman reports to Kane Thornton, CEO. Anna Freeman works with Mike Stone - Business Planning & Optimisation Manager, Angela Hemp - Finance Manager, and Elizabeth Rosenberg - Technical Services Manager.
