Maryline Kienle

Maryline Kienle has a broad and varied work experience. In 2021, they began working as Manager, Project & Research Operations at Clear Creek Bio. In 2020, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher (SNSF fellowship) for Prof. Khosla group at Stanford University, where they designed, synthesized, and evaluated pyrimidine biosynthesis inhibitors as potential antiviral agents. From 2014-2020, they worked as a PhD Student for Prof. Altmann group at ETH Zürich, where they synthesized analogs of a natural product and a promising hit from high-throughput screening to find biologically active compounds to treat tuberculosis. In 2013, they worked as a Research Trainee at Roche, where they synthesized and analyzed peptides to find biologically active compounds to treat eye diseases. Maryline also completed a Master thesis at Roche, where they synthesized and analyzed small molecules to find biologically active compounds in the area of cardiovascular diseases. In 2012, they worked as a Research Project for Prof. Charette group at Université de Montréal, where they synthesized substrates to test their reactivity in metal-catalyzed intramolecular cyclization by C(sp3)-H activation. In 2011, they worked as a Research Trainee at Boehringer Ingelheim, where they synthesized an advanced intermediate to generate a library of compounds using combinatorial chemistry to find biologically active compounds in the area of respiratory diseases. Maryline also worked as a Scientific Project in Prof. Olivier Baudoin laboratory (ICBMS) at CPE Lyon, where they synthesized a phosphorus ligand to test its activity in an intramolecular cyclization reaction by C-H bond activation. Finally, in 2010, they worked as an Internship Trainee at Bluestar Silicones.

Maryline Kienle's education history began in 2003 when they obtained a Scientific Baccalaureate from Lycée Charlemagne. Maryline then attended Lycée Honoré de Balzac - Classes préparatoires from 2006 to 2009, studying Physics - Chemistry (Math Sup, Math Spé). From 2009 to 2013, Kienle obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from CPE Lyon in Organic chemistry, Analytic, Process Engineering. Maryline then attended Université de Montréal from 2012 to 2013, studying Chemistry. Finally, from 2014 to 2019, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from ETH Zürich in Organic Chemistry.
